From Nagasaki city port? or from a city from Nagasaki prefecture? Nagasaki is huge. For instance if you were a navy guy pulling into sasebo, which is Nagasaki prefecture, then you would take a 45min train ride about 10dollars in fare one way. If you were pulling into a cruise terminal in Nagasaki city. Then you can hop a taxi for about 2000 yen or 20$ usd loosely estimated. Japan is not a 3rd world country so you have to have yen to pay and Japan is still not international creditcard friendly. Never fear every 7-11 store takes American card or international and provides yen. Hope this helps. If you are not pulling into Nagasaki city port and it's a different port then provide the name and I will let you know. If flying you will need to taxi to the train and train you way to the city about a 30 min ride. Dont taxi from the Nagasaki airport to Nagasaki city. You will be out about 20,000 yen or 200usd. City buses are a great cheap way to travel to and from the airport
Is it easy to get to from the cruise terminal? If so, how?

We were on a cruise ship and used the trams for our transport. We are both in our 70"s and did not find the trams a problem. Inside the Cruise Terminal information staff will give you maps and tell you where to get the tram. We started by visiting the Peace Park and then walked down to the Atomic Bomb Museum (through the Hypocentre Park). We then visited the one legged Tori Gate and then Sofukuji Temple. All this was done on the tram and short walks. The tram routes follow a colour code like MTR routes - easy.
