I have another question about our upcoming trip to Waterton Village next July. Does anyone know if, or have you have used, a Travelers Card in the shops and eating places there to pay for things?? You get them from your bank for a allotted amount of money for your trip. They are like a credit card and you don't have to carry as much cash with you. Or do we need to have Canadian currency in the village. If you know about the travelers card please let me know your experience. Thanks so much for any help with this.

Thanks for the reply. We would only use it for a few things like a lunch of things at the shop. I'm thinking it will easier too just use our regular C.C. card there. I appreciate your answer.
We will be visiting Waterton Village next July for the day coming from East Glacier Park. I have read there is paid parking in some areas there. We want to spend time on the main part of the village to shop, have a bit to eat and take in the beautiful scenery there. Will we need Canadian money to put in parking meters ( if they use them ) or how does it work to pay for parking??? We want to be prepared to have a great day there. Thanks for any help I might get. We are planning a trip to Waterton Lakes National Park in August 2017. Please let me know if it is possible to rent a car in the United States or Canada with a United States passport and a state issued driver's license, that can be returned in Waterton. For our trip we would prefer to travel into the Park by bus from the U.S. and then rent a car. Is an international driver's license or other documentation needed to drive into and around the Park? Also we would like to know if there is an hotel/lodge inside of Waterton Lakes National Park with restaurants nearby.

Hi Larry. You can use your US drivers licence in Canada with no problem. You do not need an international licence. There are hotels and motels in Waterton ranging in cost from the Prince of Wales (expensive) to the Crandell Mountain (cheaper and not great). Waterton has parking for their motels and hotels and is very drivable. In fact just relying on park bus from the US you be missing lots!!! The Bayshore Inn would be a nice place to stay there as it has a restaurant attached. Waterton is small !! You cannot return or rent a vehicle there. The closest place would be probably Lethbridge. Not even close. Drive to Kalispell and then drive over Goung To The Sun Rd and take the Chief customs entry to Canada. Waterton get booked solid very early. Plan and book early 2017 or you will be disappointed.
