Planning on being in the area the weekend of the festival. What is the typical temperature and do you have any changes in your leaves that early? Is it jacket weather? We are from the south and are use to hot temps.

To the best of my knowledge, it is permanently moored at Mystic Seaport as one of the exhibits. They also have a great museum highlighting the history of whaling.

Far as I know, it's always there. We went in October of 2014 and it was so beautiful there, plus you get to see all the fall colors. Not as crowded as summertime when everyone is on vacation with their families. TIP: We went one week before the "official" fall foliage time -- not as many tourists and colors are wonderful everywhere. ***Make sure you go into the town also, down the road and over a draw bridge.
