The Red Sox could move forward with Arenado at third, Devers as their DH and Casas at first base for the three years remaining on Arenado’s contract without disrupting anything related to the development of Campbell, Marcelo Mayer or Roman Anthony. That’s no small thing in the attempt to get more functional.

MLB rumors suggest the Los Angeles Dodgers are open to trading for Nolan Arenado as trade talks with the St. Louis Cardinals heat up again, raising expectations for a major roster move.

Arenado only has three more years on his deal, so unless the Red Sox could sign Bregman to a short-term contract, it might be better to go with the St. Louis Cardinals star. However, if the Red Sox were interested in trading for the Cardinals' third baseman, they'd have to trade a prospect or two along the way.
