Strong winds place more than 24 million Americans under wildfire warnings on Thursday, as a powerful storm moves toward the Northeast, officials said.

It also includes parts of Hendry and Glades counties. The warning is based on low humidity, strong winds and dry conditions. It means that a wayward spark can easily smolder and spread out of control.
