One year ago this April, the PBS television series Barney & Friends was launched. Just last week, he celebrated his birthday with a party on the show, complete with cake, candles and songs.

My quest for the perfect pink frosted cake began in 1992 while watching an episode of "Barney ... the friends made a giant pink frosted layer cake for Barney’s two-hundred-millionth birthday.
