Cynthia Erivo did not soft-launch her engagement to Lena Waithe by wearing an engagement ring to the 2025 Grammys, a source confirms to PEOPLE. Erivo's ring was just a ring, and most of the jewelry she wore to the ceremony was loaned.

Cynthia Erivo's outfit for the 67th Grammy Awards was a pleasant surprise to many fans. The singer/actress' outfit didn't lose out to any of the other stars present at the event.

In January, Erivo was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance in Wicked, bringing her very close to EGOT status. It was her third Oscar nomination, having received two for 2019’s Harriet, one in the Best Actress category and one for Best Original Song for the film’s track “Stand Up.”

The pop star could be seen waving Erivo over to her table as the “Wicked” star searched for her assigned seat at Sunday’s show.
