The Vermont Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation’s Wood Warms Program says it has donated 80 cords of wood to local wood banks this winter and expects to donate 200 more in the next two years.

Recent warm weather has raised concerns about ice jams in towns like Montpelier, which was devastated by ice jam flooding in 1992. The beginning of March is when the capital city is most concerned.
