A year on from the M3 MacBook Air, Apple has announced the latest version of its lightweight laptop. Launched alongside the ultraportable MacBook Air 13-inch (M4), the MacBook Air 15-inch (M4) adds a few key improvements to a proven formula.

If you want a smaller and more affordable laptop and don’t mind having a smaller display, the 13-inch MacBook Air is the best choice. Conversely, if you want the most screen real-estate possible on a MacBook, then a 16-inch MacBook Pro is for you. But there’s more to consider than just screen size.

The MacBook Pro's entry-level version features an Apple M4 chip with a 10-core CPU and a 10-core GPU. Aside from the entry-level 13-inch model, which has an 8-core GPU, every new MacBook Air is equipped with the same silicon as the Pro.
