Traffic shut down on Duncan Road in Blue Springs Friday afternoon when a tree fell on a passing car, injuring the driver.

Authorities say a man was inside a vehicle when a massive tree fell on it as he was driving through Blue Springs, Missouri, Friday. The incident happened Friday afternoon in the height of strong storms pushing through the Kansas City area.

Traffic has been brought to a halt in Blue Springs after a tree fell on a moving car and sent the driver to a nearby hospital.
