Baltimore Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson remains optimistic he will be ready for the season opener on March 27 as he recovers from a mild right intercoastal strain.

Gunnar Henderson is hoping he’ll be healthy for the start of the Orioles’ season. “I’m going out there to try to do whatever I can to make it to opening day,” the shortstop said.

Gunnar Henderson hasn’t played in a Grapefruit League game since Feb. 27, when the Orioles’ star shortstop sustained a mild right intercostal strain. The 23-year-old has slowly returned to baseball activities over the past week.
