Astrid, the peregrine falcon who has raised chicks on the Adirondack Bank Building in downtown Utica along with her mate Ares since 2012, has disappeared and is presumed dead. She was at least 15.

Thadeus Joseph, 22, is charged with killing his 55-year-old mother, Astrid Joseph, in Avon on Tuesday. He pleaded not guilty.

Neighbors were home the entire day police say an Avon mother was killed in her kitchen. They've been shaken by her death.
