A man was hospitalized in critical condition after authorities say fireworks caused an explosion and house fire in Pacoima. Some dogs were trapped in the wreckage before at least one of them was rescued.

Firefighters were dispatched about 9 a.m. to 13556 W. Remington St., where they reported a partial collapse of a home.
