In the first round, the Penn State wrestler used a first-period takedown to dispatch West Virginia’s Jordan Titus, 4-2. Bartlett then made the quarterfinals by collecting a second-period takedown of South Dakota State’s Julian Tagg en route to a 4-1 decision.

Mitchell Mesenbrink, a Penn State wrestler, was not heavily recruited out of high school and chose to attend California Baptist University. Mesenbrink quickly became a star at Penn State, winning Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors and finishing second in the NCAA Championships.
