A former NFL running back has been arrested in a massive dog fighting bust that the Department of Justice has called the largest in its history. According to a report from The Independent, 54-year-old LeShon Johnson has been arrested after authorities seized 190 pit bull-type dogs from his property in Oklahoma,

LeShon Johnson, who played with the Packers for two seasons, has been accused of running a large-scale dog fighting and trafficking business.

He is accused of possessing 190 pit bull-type dogs for use in an animal fighting venture and for selling, transporting, and delivering a dog for use in an animal fighting venture. Federal authorities seized the 190 dogs from Johnson in October 2024.

News 2 Oklahoma reported that Johnson was also charged in a large dogfighting bust in Oklahoma in 2004. The site said he pleaded guilty to state animal cruelty charges then and got a five-year deferred sentence. If convicted this time around, News 2 said that Johnson faces a maximum penalty on each count of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
