‘Baybayin,’ not ‘alibata’While there have been attempts over the past century to revive the use of baybayin, these were not successful. My students know how to read baybayin, some can even write their names in baybayin.
Through Baybayin, we know that our ancestors were literate. They knew how to read and write. Almost all of them did - didn't matter if they were male or female, adult or child. Everyone was equal.
