For this review, the lens was tested on a Nikon Z7 II using Imatest. Distortion is just +0.71% pincushion. If further correction is needed then there are in-camera and software solutions.
Nikon’s Nikkor Z MC 50mm f/2.8 also offers 1:1 magnification and a more reasonable 75mm effective focal length on APS-C cameras, but we preferred the image quality from the 105mm macro lens.
