Postal service set to work with DOGE, announces plan to cut 10,000 jobs in next 30 days
The USPS plan calls for 10,000 jobs to be trimmed in the next 30 days through a voluntary early retirement program. That plan was announced before former President Joe Biden left office, but the number of cuts had not been determined. The USPS has roughly 640,000 employees, the AP reports.
DOGE will take a closer look at longstanding USPS problems, but may fall on Congress to make the necessary changes.
