A patchwork of ten different lakes linked by wetlands and creeks make Lake Louisa State Park a delight to explore. While paddling, boating, swimming or exploring the park’s trails, think about how your surroundings are connected to ecosystems, wildlife and people hundreds of miles away.

Lake Louisa can be fished from the shoreline while Dixie and Hammond lakes have accessible fixed docks and Bear Lake has a floating dock. Smokehouse Lake is accessible only by a four-wheel-drive vehicle and can be fished only by boat.

The park is open 8 a.m. until sundown, 365 days a year. Campers with a reservation who plan to arrive after sunset should call the park at 352-394-3969 to get the gate combination and instructions prior to the park closing.

Our guided paddles feature some of the most pristine wetlands and shorelines in Lake Louisa State Park. Exploring Lake Louisa, the largest of the seven lakes in the park, this ecotour is suitable for novice kayakers as well as those with advanced experience.

Trails crisscross through Lake Louisa State Park, winding through rolling hills, lush cypress swamps and scrub forests. There are 20 miles of unpaved trails throughout the park.

The Friends of Lake Louisa State Park is a Citizen Support Organization (CSO) organized to provide support for the preservation, protection, interpretation and promotion of Lake Louisa State Park through events and activities.

Camping, fishing, picnicking, hiking, bird-watching - there’s a little something for everyone. The park extends three miles along the south shore of its namesake, beautiful Lake Manatee.
