The Airbus BelugaXL (A330-743L) is a large transport aircraft based on the Airbus A330-200F built by Airbus to replace the original Airbus BelugaST (Super Transporter) to transport very large aircraft components, such as wings. [3] The aircraft made its first flight on 19 July 2018, [1] and received its type certification on 13 November 2019. [3]

Airbus launched the BelugaXL in late 2014, to support the A350 ramp-up and other production rate increases. Derived from the versatile A330-200, six BelugaXLs are now in service. The type’s gigantic cargo hold provides 30% extra transport capacity than its predecessor, ferrying aircraft subassemblies between 11 destinations around Europe.

It incorporates newly developed elements including a lowered cockpit, a greatly enlarged cargo space structure, and a modified rear and tail.
