In neuroanatomy, the optic chiasm, or optic chiasma ( / ɒptɪk kaɪæzəm /; from Greek χίασμα 'crossing', from Ancient Greek χιάζω 'to mark with an X '), is the part of the brain where the optic nerves cross.
