2010年8月29日 · That Applications folder is the one where all Applications (for all users) lives and is the one that's in the Dock. Sometimes a user will have an Applications folder in their Home folder but it will only contain Applications that are specific to that user and generally is not the one that is in the Dock.

The Applications folder at the root level of your hard drive is where applications are installed for all users. Apple's default is that the root level Applications folder will have all the applications in it.

2004年4月19日 · Every so often I'll click an icon in the dock and instead of opening up the application itself it opens up Finder and highlights the application in the Application Window.. Then, I can click on there and it'll open the app. I don't know what's causing it - I can't figure out any way to replicate it, but this is the 3rd or 4th times its happened..

2006年2月9日 · Among the items in my Applications Folder: Expose Spaces But, no Dock or Finder. Now I know that Finder is an Application, but I've never thought of Dock that way. But, there it is, along with Finder, and Spotlight. (Dock and Spotlight being in System Preferences, as are Expose and Spaces) I find that interesting.

2014年10月19日 · I've repeatedly tired to repair permissions, and it says it fixes an issue, but I still can't add applications to the Applications folder. I also did a PRAM reset (just in case). I even turned on the computer in restore mode, opened terminal and did the resetpassword function to Reset Home Directory Permissions. None of these things worked.

2013年8月7日 · I did the same thing and happened on a simple fix. Download any other file from a browser, then rather than opening it from the browser, "right click" on it and select "show in Finder". It will open up the download folder in Finder and from there, you can click and drag the word "Download" at the top of the Finder window to the left Nav Bar.

2023年3月25日 · I'm running Monterey. When Finder is the active application, the menu bar command Finder > Quit Finder allows you to quit Finder. As well, the key combination ⌘-Q can be used.-----ETA: I might have enabled Quit Finder using a utility, as described by @dogface1956. I don't remember doing so, though.
