Built by Stephen, laid down 22-Mar-1949, launched 29-Jul-1950 and commissioned 05-Dec-1952. Appeared at the Coronation Review 1953. After trials went to the Mediterranean then to the Far East. Returned to the Mediterranean 14-Jun-1955 and took part in the Suez invasion Nov-56. Returned to the UK for refit on 17-Feb-58.
