2020年11月24日 · Yes, you can. those instructions about the breaker are for hard-wired dryers (no plug)...but those haven't been common for decades anyways. No problem. Just make sure you only touch the plastic part of the dryer plug, not the metal prongs. Yes. It works just like any other plug, except for the specifications.

2012年7月23日 · Certainly the 10 wire cannot be fed from the outlet (220 vs. 110) plus, there probably wouldn’t be enough room in a single box for the outlet, the 12 wire and a 10 wire. My guess is that it is a home run to the dryer breaker in the panelbox. Definately write it up as a non-standard type installation. Good luck with that! InterNACHI®️ Forum

If, as with the case with most 240 volt appliances, the switch doesn't disconnect both ungrounded conductors, yes. Most modern appliances have clocks, electronic timers, and/or computers built-in, in addition to things like lights that come on when a door is opened.

2008年9月7日 · It can be legal to hard wire a clothes dryer, but it needs a disconnecting means within sight of the appliance. You’ve pointed out the goofy way the ground is terminated, but that 3/4" romex connector is probably not rated for the 12-3 that’s running through it.

2008年6月21日 · Can you hard wire a clothes dryer and bypass using the plug. Is this a code issue? If it is a cide issue is it something new. I saw a clothes dryer that dates back to the mid 1970's that was directly hard wired and I am wondering if this is proper or if it should be changed.

2013年2月3日 · Newer dryers need 4 wires. A ground, two hots and a NEUTRAL. green, black, red and white. The ground wire (bare copper) is never counted. Now the backside of the outlet. Connect each wire to the outlet as shown for your outlet. Tighten each screw nice and tight. The Wire. You will need a 10/3 wire.
