Assiniboine Park Zoo and The Manitoba Museum are offering a unique way to learn more about Arctic and Sub-Arctic life in Manitoba! With this unique partnership, you’ll learn about polar bears, First Nations and Inuit culture. Explore sustainable resources of the Arctic, and the effects that we as humans have on the environment.

Assiniboine Park Zoo is also home to the Leatherdale International Polar Bear Conservation Centre, an education, research, and transition facility that is the first home for polar bears before they are transitioned into Journey to Churchill. The exhibit features expansive new polar bear, Arctic fox, wolf, musk ox, caribou, snowy owl, and seal habitats. As well as interactive interpretive components, a short film experience inside a 360-degree theatre, and incredible underwater viewing tunnels for polar bears and seals.

I’m visiting Assiniboine Park Zoo’s Journey to Churchill, a sanctuary for around 200 species such as muskoxen, Arctic fox, wolves and other northern species.
