The U.S. Intelligence Community is composed of the following 18 organizations: Two independent agencies—the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA);

The United States Intelligence Community (IC) is a group of separate U.S. federal government intelligence agencies and subordinate organizations that work both separately and collectively to conduct intelligence activities which support the foreign policy and national security interests of the United States.

The U.S. Intelligence Community is a coalition of 18 agencies and organizations, including the ODNI, within the Executive Branch that work both independently and collaboratively to gather and analyze the intelligence necessary to conduct foreign relations and national security activities.

Intelligence.gov aims to earn and retain public trust through transparency of Intelligence Community activities while protecting the sources and methods necessary to perform its national security mission.

The 2023 National Intelligence Strategy (NIS) provides the Intelligence Community (IC) with strategic direction from the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) for the next four years.

It contains the Intelligence Community’s strategic assessment and risk evaluation of threats to U.S. national security for that year, including cyber and technological threats, terrorism, weapons of mass destruction, crime, environmental and natural resources issues, and economic issues.
