The conflict in South Sudan has left over 2.2 million refugees and 2.2 million IDPs displaced for over a decade, with climate change and food insecurity compounding the crisis.

At the end of 2022, there were 2.3 million South Sudanese refugees in camps, settlements, and urban areas in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Sudan and Uganda, living in precarious conditions, exacerbated by the ongoing drought and food insecurity.
