Vellore Fort is a large 16th-century fort situated in heart of the Vellore city, in the state of Tamil Nadu built by the Emperors of Vijayanagara. The fort was at one time the imperial capital of the Aravidu Dynasty of the Vijayanagara Empire. The fort is known for its grand ramparts, wide moat and robust masonry.

The fort and the building structure found inside the fort are being preserved by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). The Fort was constructed by then the ruler of Vellore, Bommu Nayakar and his brother during 1526-1595 AD.

The mosque has a Brick and lime structure and is built in the Indo-Saracenic style of architecture. The mosque is beautiful and stands in good shape till now. The mosque has a typical structure of a dome in the center surrounded by miners on the sides. One can appreciate the beautiful floral pattern decorating the walls of the mosque.
