Campers must acquire the following permits to camp in Waterton Lakes National Park: National Park Entry Pass: available at park gates, the visitor centre and online. Camping permit: available online or over the phone (1-877-RESERVE). Upon arrival, check-in at the campground kiosk.

2025年1月13日 · Click the link to access the Parks Canada reservation site. Camping in Waterton gets busy during peak season! It is highly recommended to make a reservation well in advance of your camping trip if you want to guarantee to get a site, even if you plan on backcountry camping.

How do I make camping reservations? When does Waterton open and close for the season? Waterton Lakes National Park is open year round for visitors to come and enjoy. Some of the business community does close for the winter, and open again in the Spring. May to October is the season when you will find most things open in the park.

Waterton Lakes National Park campground opening dates in 2024. Townsite Campground will open on April 25, 2024 and close on October 13, 2024. Reservations will be taken for bookings between May 3, 2024 and September 8, 2024. At the beginning and end of the season, sites are first-come, first served.

Reservations are taken for sites at the main Townsite Campground through the PARKS CANADA CAMPGROUND RESERVATION SERVICE (877/737-3783) and it’s strongly recommended that you reserve as soon as the system opens in January (see Waterton Lakes National Park campground Reservations in 2024 for details).

In Waterton Lakes NP, there is a non-reservable campground, which operates on a first-come, first-served basis: Belly River Campground (24 sites – primitive sites, unserviced, outhouses), located on Chief Mountain Highway, 26 km from Waterton Townsite.
