Its just muffled sound of giving you impression being surround. If you want trully to experience 5.1 or 7.1 go to cinema or buy speakers setup.

If you are gaming, then a 7.1 headset would be perfect due to being able to hear all the sound around you. The only thing that you should be aware of is that horror games are more intense with 7.1. Now if you are not going to do any gaming, then I would say that 7.1 sound would be overkill. That is due to movies not being set up for any 7.1 sound.

Mar 24, 2021 · 7.1 surround on headphones is more of a software gimmick. It's not really a selling point I'd be concerned about. With stereo you are able to get the full effect of 3d space, but the 7.1 stuff tends to be just a generalization that mixed sounds in different areas and adds a bit of air in the frequency to make it sound wider.

Jul 27, 2019 · After the reboot the sound was completely gone again so i tried to delete the drivers again and then plug the headset back in with GHUB open. I do have sound and windows sees it as a 7.1 surround headset and when i test it gives me more than 1 sound. Only small problem is that GHUB surround sound test still doesn't work but i can live with that.
