Located three miles from downtown Knoxville, Ijams Nature Center is an environmental education center visited annually by hundreds of thousands of people from around the world. With 318 acres of forests, meadows, wetlands, and creeks, Ijams is perfect for students, families, and nature lovers of all ages.

Ijams is a 318-acre urban greenspace featuring 14+ miles of natural-surface trails and a stretch of the Will Skelton Greenway. All trails are hiker friendly, and thanks to a partnership with the Appalachian Mountain Bike Club, 9+ miles in the Mead’s Quarry and Ross Marble Natural Area of the nature center also are designed for mountain bikers.

Ijams Nature Center is a nonprofit environmental education center that relies on member and donor support. Funding helps maintain the more than 318 acres of protected land managed by the nature center as well as allows Ijams to offer low-cost education programs so that more people can take part in them.
