Recommendations given here are all good but a mishmash. You should probably make subcategories for each film era and keys for why the choices are important. Build your own film education, as it were. That said, I’ll add to the mishmash with a few European selections 1960-72. I think they catch a certain mood of the time in different ways.

Not to mention the connections you make in film school can get you a lot of great jobs during school, and after you graduate. It's possible to do it without school, but you need to be a good self-guided learner, lucky, and incredibly driven. Film school will challenge you, but it will make learning a whole lot easier, and a lot more fun imo.

It's such a cheat, entirely dependent on the main character suddenly revealing something crucial about himself that makes absolutely no sense, even on the film's own terms.

2014年12月18日 · I had no in into the industry prior and had no knowledge as to how anything film worked, and VFS did provide that. I currently work as a 1st Assistant Editor on TV movies and indies, and a general assistant editor on features these days. Another school I think your friend should check out is the Capillano Film program.
