Tell me about Mosrite guitar pickups | Page 2 | The Gear Page
Apr 23, 2005 · Johnny normally used light strings, and this would have been one of the cheaper pickups (the kind on the Ventures II "Slab" model,) but it still seems to have a lot of wire in it: And this other recording is why I even started paying attention to Mosrites as much as I do; but it's not just the guitar pickups. Ricky Wilson was using a string set ...
Mosrite and P90s or Jazzmaster pickups - The Gear Page
Sep 24, 2014 · Jazzmaster pickups are a beefy Fender style pickup with magnetic poles like a strat but with a shallower but broader wind like a pancake. They sound like a Strat neck pickup wishes it sounded. Bridge pickup is a bit like a P90 crossed with a Tele bridge, perhaps with slightly less balls.
Hallmark GOSPEL” brand model. Mosrite guitar. And other models.
Sep 27, 2018 · Look what Hallmark guitars did. made a Mosrite guitar and named it Gospel. From the amazing tone in our “HI FI” pickups and exclusive low friction "Shade" vibrato and bridge for stability and smooth action, and play ability the “Gospel” model guitar provides much more than you would expect...
Mosrite recommendation? - The Gear Page
Sep 28, 2007 · The ones made in the 70's (you can tell by the larger headstock and the smaller mosrite logo) had larger C shaped necks which are pretty close to a Epiphone Les Paul Custom. The sound of a Mosrite was the result mostly of their …
NGD: Hallmark Custom 65 (Mosrite Ventures-style) - The Gear Page
Apr 24, 2020 · The neck fits really well without any gaps, etc. (My Highway 1 Tele, on the other hand, though a beastly sounding guitar, is pretty jankily set by comparison). I'm no luthier, though, can barely perform routine maintenance on a guitar, so I'm mostly just talking out of my hinterlands, here.
NGD Update:Advice for someone GAS-ing for a Mosrite Ventures …
Nov 4, 2023 · Essentially a modern Hallmark is a reissue of a Mosrite, but with some well-designed revisions to make them more suitable for modern players, such as taller frets, a thicker neck, a proper 24.75” scale (vs. Mosrite’s wacky 24.5” scale), and wax-potted pickups to prevent squeal in high-gain situations.
Ok so this Mosrite is so nice. Talk me out of wanting it.
Sep 28, 2023 · The pickups were midrangy and and didn’t sound all that great on rock music. I kept it for about a year and swapped it for an Epiphone Crestwood Deluxe, which was a beautiful 3 pickup guitar. The message is that those old Mosrite guitars play well but aren’t worth the several thousand dollar guitar show prices I keep seeing.
Ric 330/Mosrite Ventures Sounds - The Gear Page
Feb 22, 2024 · Eastwoods sound like Epiphones in Mosrite clothing. Mosrite are an in-between. They sound sort of like a mix of a Jazzmaster or Telecaster Bridge Pickup and a P90, and Mosrite Pickups are not P90s, they just have similar-looking casing that's 4/10ths of an inch shorter in length than a P90. Mosrites also have a strange 24.50" scale length.

Sep 11, 2014 · The electronics are high quality with good wire, pots and switch. EVERYTHING on this guitar is made just for it - the tiny details blow my mind.... the strap buttons, switch tip and knobs - all custom castings like the classic 60s Mosrite but higher quality. This guitar SHOULD cost $3500, but it's only $1000.
mosrite/hallmark??? - The Gear Page
Oct 6, 2013 · The vibrato on the Mosrite is a bit more lithe than the Hallmark's vibrato (with the lighter spring), which some may or may not prefer. It also has brighter, hotter pickups that drive an amp's preamp harder than the Hallmark, lots of growl and bite. The Mosrite has more of a nasal tone with both pickups on whereas the Hallmark sounds sweeter.
