2020年1月14日 · Even though the (large amount of) varnished teak on my boat is in great shape, I am about to start doing what Comodave is doing - painting section by section. Partly to reduce maintenance and partly to update the look of the boat.

1. Wet the teak down; 2. Apply part one (the caustic), spreading and lightly scrubbing with a bristle brush; 3. When the surface is a uniform wet, muddy brown, apply the second part (the acid), spreading with a clean bristle brush; 4. Apply and spread enough of the acid to turn the teak a uniform tan; 5. Rinse thoroughly, and allow to dry ...

One solution which works well is to leave deck teak bare...clean it occasionally...and varnish the trim (e.g., cap rails) using a durable varnish. Coelan -- a German product -- works very well and lasts for several years (mine is three years and counting).

2013年12月21日 · If it's teak Plywood you should be able to Paint it with very little problem. Wash it well with hot soapy water, Rinse well then let dry really well. Then do a final sanding and wipedown with acetone.

2012年1月23日 · Looking at a few older boats that are dressed in Teak, beautiful in the pictures, but I have been there before, it's a PITA! Has anyone painted the suff? Just a thought, there is that epoxy paint used on garage floors, they say it's tuff as steel (sorta) and keeps oils, gasoline and other bad things out.

2020年4月17日 · Lots of boats in BC have varnished and painted teak that does not lift every 2 years. Paint when dry, use better products and techniques. I used to paint boats in Gig Harbor in the 80's, a job I loved but for one thing...I had to work on the best days of the spring, summer and fall, recreated in wet cold weather.
