2022年12月8日 · In 1980, SCLI merged with the Chessie System to create the holding company CSX Corporation. Two years later, CSX merged the Family Lines railroads to create the Seaboard System Railroad. In 1986, Seaboard renamed itself CSX Transportation, which absorbed the Chessie System's two major railroads the following year.

The Seaboard System Railroad was created in 1982 as a result of CSX Corporation merging its subsidiaries Seaboard Coast Line Railroad (SCL) and Louisville and Nashville Railroad (L&N). The railroad only existed for four years, becoming part of CSX Transportation in 1986.

A northbound train derailed at the north end of Alice siding. The train was on the main but for some reason hit the ballast. This line was the former C&EI from Chicago to Evansville. L&N took over in 1968 and at this time it was the Seaboard System. First photo is a map showing the location of the derailment in Vincennes.
