There are so many reasons to be a Friend of the TCU Library. Since 1972, the Friends have enriched the TCU campus with their generosity. The Friends are dedicated to promoting and elevating the resources, services and operations of the Mary Couts Burnett Library.

The paradox for us is that more and more of the library collection is online, accessible from the web twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Yet, more and more TCU students spend significant time in the building.

The plan will move 800,000 materials, including books, bound periodicals and archives, which constitute about two-thirds of all materials housed in the library. The library staff has identified these materials as used less frequently or not having been checked out in the past 10 years.

As the TCU Friends celebrate 40 years of its founding in 1972, the university recognizes the importance of the library in its quest to enhance the university experience by creating a world-class library that facilitates exploration and scholarship.
