2019年12月20日 · The Teton Pass connects Wilson, Wyoming (and the Jackson Hole/Teton Valley region of Wyoming) on the east side with Victor Idaho (and the Idaho Teton Valley region) to the west. Both valleys serve as home to folks who live at about 6200 ft. above sea level. The pass peaks out at 8432 ft (on the road.)

The high-mountain pass rises approximately 2,400 feet from its base near the town of Wilson before descending back down near the Idaho state line where Wyoming State Highway 22 turns into Idaho State Highway 33. In the summer and fall, Teton Pass is an incredibly picturesque drive with breathtaking views.

Driving through Grand Teton National Park offers stunning views of the Teton Range, along with the oppotunity to view wildlife. Many turnouts along park roads offer exhibits on park geology, wildlife, and plants. Turnouts also provide safe places to enjoy scenic views, view wildlife, and take photographs.

Teton Pass has some of the steepest grades in the continental United States, sometimes it’s best to take a secondary route. The most frequently used alternative route is through Idaho’s Swan Valley, to Wyoming’s Hoback Jct. on Wyoming Highway 26/89.

2024年12月13日 · A steeper grade and sharper turns have some rethinking driving over Teton Pass between Idaho and Jackson, Wyoming, this winter. But most regulars say they feel the fix is good enough and they’re ready when the road turns icy.

Teton Pass is not part of Grand Teton National Park, but there’s no fee to drive on it. However, it’s a steep mountain pass at 8,000 feet, so you should be very comfortable driving in winter weather if you’re going to cross it—assuming it’s not closed, which is not uncommon during winter storms.
