If you were to take the actual paint sample and did a color spectrograph of the paint to exactly match RGB or ink color you would be disappointed. The "real" Armour Yellow is actually a mustardy-chartreuse color that would look sickly on the calender photos or on a Web site.

2019年2月20日 · Union Pacific's yellow dates back to 1934 when UP debuted the nation's first streamliner. Yellow was sélected for its great visibility as a safety factor on the fast train. Missouri Pacific diesels originally were painted blue and gray, then were changed to the solid blue in 1961.

The Union Pacific Railroad won the race to put the first streamliner in service, introducing the bright yellow M-10000 to the traveling public in 1934. Built by Pullman with aluminum bodies and a distillate (kerosene) engine made by a division of General Motors, the M-10000 was supposed to be the future of passenger rail.

The two Budd built "Pacific" series 10-6's are trailing a "Placid" series 11 Double Bedroom sleeper behind the domes. This is consistent with the "City of Portland" for that era! The Milwaukee Road Super Dome is in the consist of the combined Domeliner Challenger and City of San Francisco following the Budd built SP coach. Excellent! > Terrific!!

So every other engine on the roster was painted yellow and grey to promote the new streamlined trains that UP was introducing at the time.
