Christopher Jed "CJ" Madsen is a third-year candidate for the Doctor of Musical Arts degree, emphasis in choral conducting, at the University of Arizona. CJ recently earned his Master of Music degree in choral conducting from Brigham Young University (BYU), in Provo, Utah. He also earned his bachelor's degree in piano performance from BYU.

In 2016, Brigham Young University student CJ Madsen began writing an oratorio based on the text of 3rd Nephi. The work was first performed in German on a study abroad to Vienna. Eight years later, the work has been orchestrated, performed widely, and professionally recorded.
