2013年4月21日 · I am an ardent (if not militant) supporter of the KTM 690 Enduro. I currently own a 2015 and the newest 2019. You are used to sitting up so to me the SMC would be out of the question, if you don't want to be leaning over all the time. I've ridden my 2015 690 in Mexico, USA and Canada with knobbies on the whole trip.

2017年3月29日 · The KTM 690 definitely has its fans and I can see why - over 70 horsepower at the rear wheel is very addictive for the speed jockeys but I had trouble seeing past quite a few issues. If found the 690 had a close ratio gearbox compared to similar bike in its class.

The KTM 690 Enduro R was introduced in 2009, differing from the basic 'E' models by having an orange frame, different styling and 20 mm longer suspension travel, thus being 20 mm higher. Although labelled 690 the displacement for bikes from 2008-2011 is actually 654cc.

2005年1月21日 · IMHO the 690 is an old bike, a 2007 project built to win Dakar Rally when it was raced with big mono on fast trails. Thus it is big, powerful with a long and stable frame. Nowadays rallys are raced with 450 bilke with Enduro/Cross frame to be more nimble as the power output of a 450cc is enough.

2010年8月9日 · Recently got back into riding and purchased a 2021 KTM 690 Enduro R. Love the bike and find I use it about 70/30 road/dirt. I'd like to get a second set of wheels to mount a more aggressive dirt tire on and a more street oriented tire to replace the original tires on the original wheels when they're worn.

2020年7月17日 · IMO, a KTM 690 or Husqvarna 701 is not a very good beginner bike. I would strongly suggest something like a KTM 350 EXC or Husqvarna 350S if you're wanting a street legal bike and you actually want to do some off-roading and ride it like a dirt bike.

2018年9月24日 · I kept wondering why they didn't put TC and corner ABS on the 701, making it a scaled down 1190 Adventure (and the new 690 Duke had both, so the tech was readily available). I appreciated both on the 1190 and miss them on my current 690. This should be a sweet machine. Wondering about the weight, it will certainly be a bit above the current model.
